So we engineered a catback exhaust system they can all live with, built for the customer who is still driving this truck in 2040.

The Thermal R&D 3" Catback Exhaust System Savage Edition for the 2024+ 4th Gen Toyota Tacoma is our first Toyota application, developed for the 2.4L iFORCE Turbo engine and iFORCE MAX hybrid models alike.

At the core of the system is our True Helmholtz Technology, and this system runs dual Helmholtz chambers, one up front and one in the rear. Here is what most of the competition misses: the 4th Gen Tacoma rides on the same platform as the Tundra, and that long frame gives low frequency drone room to build up behind the cab. So we tuned a dedicated rear chamber to kill it where it lives. Drone is engineered out instead of volume engineered in, and the result is a system that cruises at 60 to 70 mph with zero drone, then delivers the sound the moment you get on the throttle.

The Savage sound profile is for the ones who grew up on this. That cold start bark that wakes up the block for a minute before it settles into an idle with attitude. The snap and character you remember from boosted Civics and Integras warming up on cold mornings, back when the whole neighborhood knew somebody was building something in their garage. We took that energy and tuned it into a modern truck. Savage comes on harder off throttle, hits loud and unapologetic the second you roll into it, and still cruises clean at highway speed because True Helmholtz Technology never stops working. If you want the most aggressive Tacoma exhaust sound we make, this is it.

Clearance was designed in, not bolted on. The entire system tucks 2.5" higher than the factory exhaust and hugs the underbody from the front connection all the way to the rear exit, so nothing hangs low waiting for a rock, a rut, or a steep departure angle. Loaded for overlanding or flexed out on the trail, this exhaust stays out of the conversation.

Every configuration also ships with a ceramic black coated rear section. We will be transparent about why. The coating dissipates heat in the one spot on a Tacoma where it matters most, right next to your spare tire, so the spare stays protected on long pulls.

Choose from four configurations: a Turndown exit with no tip tucked behind the bumper, a Single Tip in Polished stainless, a Single Tip in Black Coated finish, or a Dual Tip in Black Coated finish, with big 4.5" tips on every tipped setup.

Constructed from mandrel-bent T304 stainless steel and made in the USA, the system connects after the factory catalytic converters, mounts using factory hanger locations, and requires no cutting or welding for installation. Emissions components are not removed or modified.
