Dragging Your Exhaust on the Trail? Our New Tacoma Exhaust Has Better Ground Clearance.
Share
If you're building a 2024+ Toyota Tacoma for overlanding or technical trail riding, ground clearance is always top of mind. You lift the suspension, upsize the tires, and bolt on skid plates to protect the underbelly. But there is one vulnerable component that many off-roaders forget to upgrade until they hear the sound of scraping metal: the exhaust.
The Problem with Factory Exhausts

Factory exhaust systems are notorious for hanging low. They act as rock magnets that can easily get crushed, bent, or torn off when navigating steep breakover angles or rocky terrain. An aftermarket exhaust shouldn't just sound better; for the off-road community, it needs to fit better, too.
We tackled this pain point head-on with our new 3-inch catback exhaust for the 2024+ Toyota Tacoma 2.4L i-FORCE and i-FORCE MAX. Our engineers designed this system to tuck tightly against the underbody from front to rear. The result? Our exhaust sits a full 2.5 inches higher than the factory setup.
How a Higher Exhaust Helps Off-Roaders
By hugging the chassis, this high-clearance design vastly improves your truck's breakover angle and keeps your exhaust out of harm's way when you're crawling over obstacles. You get the benefits of mandrel-bent 3-inch T304 stainless steel tubing for better exhaust flow, without sacrificing an inch of trail capability.
The factory metrics of the 4th Gen (2024+) Tacoma's off-road geometry are highly competitive out of the box. Top-tier trims like the TRD Pro and Trailhunter boast up to 11.1 inches of running ground clearance, an approach angle of up to 35.7 degrees, and a departure angle that can reach 25.7 degrees.
However, the most vulnerable metric in technical rock crawling is the breakover angle - the measurement that dictates whether your truck will clear the crest of an obstacle or get high-centered. While Toyota optimized the 2024 chassis for a healthy 24.6-degree breakover angle, a low-hanging factory exhaust will compromise that clearance right in the middle of the wheelbase. By relocating the lowest point of the exhaust system 2.5 inches higher into the chassis cavity, our system makes it possible to utilize the truck's maximum geometric potential.
Standard and Savage Editions Available

Available in both our smooth-sounding Standard configuration and our aggressive Savage Edition, this exhaust allows you to get get the exact tone you want while ensuring your rig survives the wilderness. Plus, thanks to True Helmholtz Technology, you won't have to listen to exhausting cabin drone on the long highway drive to the trailhead. This technology relies on precise acoustic physics rather than restrictive baffles. By calculating the specific frequency of the engine's most intrusive sound waves, we integrate a resonator chamber into the design. When the exhaust sound waves enter this chamber, they bounce back to collide with incoming waves perfectly out of phase, effectively canceling out the harsh frequencies.
