LessEcoMoreBoost Installs Ford Maverick Exhaust

Looking for a great sounding exhaust for your Ford Maverick? YouTuber Tyler Clark from LessEcoMoreBoost recently installed a Thermal R&D Ford Maverick Cat-Back Exhaust, putting both the side exit and turndown configurations to the test. In this video takes you through the install process and provides an on-road sound comparison to see how each setup performs.

Side Exit vs. Turndown: Which One Wins?

Starting with what is essentially a stock Ford Maverick, Tyler first shows how quiet the exhaust is before unboxing the Thermal R&D Ford Maverick cat-back exhaust. Then he shows us what it sounds like outside the truck and in the cab. Stock exhausts are built to be as quiet and as fuel efficient as possible. Not necessarily the features that matter most to truck owners, in our humble opinion.

It's the perfect amount perfect of noise...

Immediately Tyler comments on the more aggressive sound coming from the Thermal R&D exhaust, noting it has the right tone without getting overly loud or overbearing. It's not annoying and doesn't drone making it easy to live with every day.

Swapping out the black tips for the turndown ones takes no time at all. In Tyler's opinion, the turndown tips look like they came from the factory and the exhaust sounds more aggressive than stock without being too loud for everyday driving. The difference between the two styles of exhaust tips is subtle but distinct:

Side Exit:

  • More aggressive, sportier look
  • Projects sound outward, giving it a slightly louder tone outside the cab

Turndown:

  • More subtle appearance - tucks away for a clean, minimalist look
  • Directs sound downward, which keeps exterior volume in check

Tyler remarked that both exhaust styles sound fantastic and says he'd have a hard time picking between the two types of exhaust tips. The side exit tips give the Maverick a more custom look while the turndown ones are more subtle.

“It’s a tough call - both setups sound great, but we personally like the look of the black one a little bit more.”

Tyler Clark, LessEcoMoreBoost

Regardless of which option you choose, both configurations feature Thermal R&D’s True Helmholtz Technology – Drone Free Exhaust Sound, meaning you get a deep, refined tone without any annoying in-cabin drone.

Final Thoughts And Why Thermal R&D?

Tyler’s verdict? The Thermal R&D Maverick exhaust delivers an aggressive-yet-controlled sound that enhances the truck’s personality without being obnoxious. And with its T304 stainless steel construction and precision engineering, it’s a system built to last.
