CHEVROLET CAMARO 10-13 Automatic Transmission
Part No. B1202-C1203
The Chevy Camaro SS is powered by a 6.2 liter V8 engine that produces over 400 horsepower. Fortunately for us at Thermal R&D, Chevy left some wiggle room to improve on the sound, and that is exactly what we did. We developed a straight-through exhaust system that adds a more aggressive and dominant tone, symbolic of the American muscle car.
External Helmholtz resonators were added to the rear section of the system to attack the drone frequencies at cruising. These resonators allow for a deeper, more aggressive tone during acceleration without restricting exhaust flow, allowing for optimum sound and superior performance. For the automatic versions, an additional resonator was added to account for Chevy’s engine design that deactivates from eight to four cylinders during cruising. This feature allowed us to create a unique and technical look with two resonators on each rear section.
The 4.5” slant cut tips add an ominous, upgraded look to the rear section, complimenting the improved sound quality and performance.
